IBM Teams with Together AI on $240M Infrastructure Deal
IBM has announced a $240 million infrastructure deal with AI-optimized cloud operator Together AI. The partnership comes after Together AI raised $800 million in funding, which included a consortium led by Nvidia Corp.
The two companies will collaborate on deploying a 'large cluster' of HGX B300 systems for Together AI's cloud platform. This platform is designed to run machine learning workloads and processes approximately 400 trillion tokens per month.
IBM will use its own infrastructure, including the HGX B300 systems, which are equipped with Nvidia's Blackwell Ultra chips. These chips provide up to 15 petaflops of performance when processing data in the NVFP4 format.
