IBM Teams with Together AI on $240m Nvidia HGX B300 Cloud Deployment
IBM has signed a $240 million multi-year agreement with Together AI to deploy a large cluster of Nvidia HGX B300 systems on IBM Cloud. The deployment is the first large-scale cluster built for inference on IBM Cloud using HGX B300 systems, which will be interconnected by Nvidia Spectrum-X Ethernet technology.
Together AI chose IBM and Nvidia due to their ability to deliver GPU capacity at a pace required for rapid AI scaling and lowest token cost. This cluster is expected to be available from Q1 2027.
The CEO of Together AI, Vipul Ved Prakash, stated that the company wants enterprises to have access to high-performance models without the closed-model price tag, which can only happen with fast and reliable infrastructure at scale.
Alan Peacock, general manager of IBM Cloud, noted that companies are racing to adopt agentic AI at scale to drive real business outcomes. The scalable and economical enterprise-grade AI infrastructure provided by IBM and Nvidia will help Together AI accelerate innovation for the next generation of AI infrastructure.
