IBM's $5 Billion Bet on AI Security Partners with New Deployment Player

IBM's Lightwell AI security platform has gained a deployment partner in LTM. This partnership will bring integration, validation, and DevSecOps support to enterprise customers.

The move is significant as IBM committed $5 billion earlier this year to Lightwell and related open-source security initiatives. In its first two weeks, the platform generated 7,500 patches using AI agents that find vulnerabilities, build patches, and test fixes.

Despite this development, IBM's shares slipped approximately 0.2% to $231.48. This suggests investors remain unconvinced that another distribution channel will quickly turn the AI-powered security platform into meaningful revenue.
