IITian's Journey from Samsung to Google: Overcoming Imposter Syndrome

Vedic Mishra, an IIT graduate, shared his career journey on Instagram, explaining how he overcame early struggles with coding at Samsung to land a job at Google.

Mishra recalled feeling like an outsider among more experienced developers at Samsung and realized that drawing confidence from his IIT experience was key to overcoming his weaknesses in coding and technical skills.

He spent two months putting in 6-8 hours a day to strengthen his skills, including learning data structures and algorithms (DSA), system design, and different technology stacks through online courses, books, and Medium articles.

Mishra's effort eventually helped him secure a role at Salesforce, but he still felt like an outsider. He decided to move on from Salesforce to challenge himself further and prove that his success was the result of his abilities, rather than a fluke.

He eventually landed a job at Google, where he could continue to push himself and establish that his success at Salesforce was not a one-time event.
