Illinois Athletics Secures Multi-Year Sponsorship Deal with Caterpillar
The University of Illinois and Caterpillar Inc. have announced a multi-year sponsorship deal that will see CAT logos displayed on-field at Zuppke Field, Gies Memorial Stadium.
The agreement was brokered by Learfield and marks the second major corporate partnership for Illinois athletics in the past two months, following a five-year, $30 million pact with Busey Bank to become the school's first jersey-patch sponsor.
Caterpillar has deep roots in the state of Illinois, with more than 17,000 employees based there and its headquarters previously located in Peoria before moving to Deerfield in 2017 and then Irving (Texas) in 2022.
Illinois athletics director Josh Whitman said, 'We are proud to align with Caterpillar, a company, like the University, with a long and storied connection to the great state of Illinois, and introduce this groundbreaking sponsorship.'
