A new report from IBM reveals that the average cost of a data breach in India has reached an all-time high of ₹25.5 crore (INR 255 million) in 2026, representing a 15.9% increase over last year's ₹22 crore (INR 220 million).

The report found that AI-generated malicious breaches accounted for 26% of the total, highlighting the growing threat of cyberattacks fueled by artificial intelligence.

Organizations that extensively deployed AI and security automation were better positioned to fend off attacks, experiencing significantly lower breach costs and faster response times.
