Indian Space Startup Pixxel Secures $100 Million in Record Funding Round
Google-backed Indian space startup Pixxel has secured $100 million in its largest funding round to date. The Series C investment was co-led by Singapore state investor Temasek and British space technology firm Seraphim, with participation from existing investors Radical Ventures and growX Ventures.
New investors 360 ONE Asset and IMM Investment also joined the round, bringing Pixxel's total funding to $195 million. The company plans to use the funds to scale up its satellite network and expand its Earth intelligence business through its Aurora software platform.
Pixxel was founded by Awais Ahmed and has been developing hyperspectral satellites that provide detailed information about the surface of the Earth. With this latest investment, Pixxel aims to establish a planet-scale infrastructure connecting sensors, software, and satellite systems.
