Indian Startups See Heavy Investment From Global Players and Domestic Funds
BNP Paribas and Goldman Sachs have made significant investments in Indian startups through open-market transactions. On September 4, BNP Paribas Financial Markets acquired 1.78 crore shares of Swiggy for Rs 491.99 crore, while Goldman Sachs Investments Mauritius I purchased 1.98 crore shares for Rs 549.01 crore.
The combined value of these transactions amounts to over Rs 1,041 crore and represents a 1.36 percent stake in the food delivery company Swiggy. The shares were bought at Rs 276.10 apiece, which saw a 2.53 percent increase in price following the transactions.
Another notable transaction was made by Ohana India Growth Fund, which acquired an additional 1.64 percent stake in Shankara Buildpro for Rs 51.88 crore through two separate purchases. Vikas Khemani, founder of Carnelian Asset Management & Advisors, sold half his stake in Unified Data Tech Solutions, representing a 0.53 percent stake.
Other transactions included TenCore Partners Master selling 1.41 percent of its stake in CARE Ratings for Rs 73.57 crore and Anchorage Capital offloading 0.85 percent of its stake in ESDS Software Solution for Rs 76.01 crore.
