India's Data Breach Costs Soar to Record $3.2 Million in 2026
India has seen a significant increase in data breach costs, reaching an average of ₹25.5 crore (or $3.2 million USD) per incident in 2026, according to a recent report by IBM.
This is a 15.9% increase from the previous year's average cost of ₹22 crore ($2.8 million USD), highlighting the growing financial impact of cyberattacks on Indian organizations.
The report also found that the average data breach in India increased in scale, with organizations losing an average of 39,500 records per breach, up from 38,200 records in the previous year.
