India's Economic Growth Hinges on Cloud and AI Adoption
Cloud and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies are poised to propel India's economic growth, according to Salesforce President and CEO for South Asia Arundhati Bhattacharyya. She stated that these technologies democratize advanced capabilities, enabling India to leapfrog in the technology revolution.
Bhattacharyya emphasized that AI will not displace existing jobs but create more by fulfilling unmet business demands. According to NITI Aayog estimates, accelerated AI adoption could add USD 500-600 billion to India's GDP by 2035.
The Indian government projects the digital economy will grow almost twice as fast as the overall economy and account for nearly one-fifth of national income by 2029-30. Bhattacharyya urged businesses to transform using technology, focusing on data, redesigning work, and developing skills to stay competitive in this rapidly changing landscape.
