Indonesia Asks Apple, Google to Remove Hornet App Over LGBTQ+ Concerns
The Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs has requested Apple and Google to remove the Hornet app from their respective stores in Indonesia.
The move comes after public concerns were raised over the app's alleged association with LGBTIQ+ campaigns.
Digital Space Supervision Director General Alexander Sabar stated that the ministry had received community reports regarding the application, which is described as a 'gay social network' on the Google Play Store.
Sabar emphasized that all digital platforms operating in Indonesia must comply with the country's regulations and values.
