Indosat Launches Zankore Joint Venture with Nvidia, Nokia, and Ooredoo Group

Indonesia's Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (IOH) has launched Zankore by Indosat, a joint venture with Nvidia, Nokia, and Ooredoo Group to establish itself as a regional AI infrastructure powerhouse.

The new platform combines the power of AI datacentre hardware and software, orchestration of an AI grid architecture, distributed processing of AI-RAN deployments, local language AI models, and industrial muscle of its partners.

Zankore aims to meet Southeast Asia's rapidly growing demand for secure and scalable AI computing, advancing Indonesia's position as a regional AI hub.

The joint venture has secured $800 million in investment from Ooredoo Group, with the telco taking a 49% stake in Zankore. The platform is expected to deliver 200 megawatts of capacity by early 2027 and reach 1 gigawatt of capacity ultimately, making it one of the region's largest AI infrastructure platforms.

Nvidia is providing its DSX AI factory reference architecture, while Nokia will supply AI-native networking for secure, high-performance AI infrastructure. The platform also incorporates Nvidia's DSX MaxLPS, an energy management system designed to maximise token performance per MW in AI factories.
