Ingenia Therapeutics Lists on KOSDAQ with Strong Korean Ties
Ingenia Therapeutics, a clinical-stage biotech firm based in Massachusetts, has begun trading on the KOSDAQ stock exchange as of August 18. The listing reflects the company's strong roots in Korea, where its core technologies originated and it maintains a local subsidiary.
The company will use the IPO proceeds to advance several pipeline assets, including IGT-303 for chronic kidney disease (CKD) and diabetic kidney disease, which is currently undergoing Phase IIa trials in Australia, New Zealand, and South Korea. Additionally, Ingenia plans to progress preclinical assets such as IGT-302 for glaucoma and IGT-627 for pulmonary arterial hypertension.
Notably, Ingenia's lead ophthalmology antibody, IGT-427, was licensed to EyeBio in 2022 and is now being developed by Merck under the name MK-8748 (Tiespectus) for wet age-related macular degeneration and diabetic macular edema. However, Ingenia retains no development responsibility for MK-8748.
