Inhibrx Biosciences Sees Strong Results from Head and Neck Cancer Trial
Inhibrx Biosciences Inc., a biopharmaceutical firm, has announced primary endpoint results from its HexAgon study. The trial evaluated INBRX-106 in combination with Merck & Co Inc.'s Keytruda (pembrolizumab) for treating head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
The results showed that the combination arm outperformed monotherapy, with a confirmed objective response rate of 48.3% compared to 26.5%. The median progression-free survival was 9.6 months versus 4.9 months for monotherapy.
The trial also saw significant benefits in HPV-positive patients, with an 80% confirmed objective response rate and complete responses occurring in 30% of this group.
Inhibrx plans to expand its Phase 2 trial by adding approximately 50 HPV-positive patients to support a potential accelerated regulatory pathway. The company is also conducting a confirmatory Phase 3 study, as well as a Phase 1/2 trial evaluating INBRX-106 in perioperative non-small cell lung cancer.
