Irish Workers Embracing Career Change Amid Rising AI Adoption
A recent Microsoft study in Ireland has found that workers are increasingly recognizing the value of AI skills. According to the 2026 Work Trend Index from Microsoft Ireland, nearly half (47%) of Irish workers now say AI is making them consider a career change.
This marks a significant increase from last year's report, where only 34 percent of workers in Ireland said they were considering a career change due to AI. The study highlights the growing importance of developing skills that are adaptable and relevant to an AI-driven work environment.
The majority (75%) of Irish workers surveyed believe that individuals with a wide range of skills will become more valuable, while two-thirds (65%) expect the future of work to focus on flexible skills over fixed roles.
