IronPigs Down WooSox with Late-Inning Surge
The Lehigh Valley IronPigs took down the Worcester Red Sox at Coca-Cola Park in Allentown, Pennsylvania on September 11th. Chuck King pitched six innings of one-run baseball to secure the win for the 'Pigs.
The game was scoreless through four frames, but the WooSox finally broke the ice with a run in the fifth inning. Nate Baez's double into left-centerfield scored Mx Ferguson from first base and gave Worcester the early lead.
However, the IronPigs fought back with solo homers from Otto Kemp and Keaton Anthony in the sixth inning to take the lead. Payton Henry and Gabriel Rincones Jr. each added solo shots in the seventh inning to extend the 'Pigs' lead to 4-1.
The 'Pigs handed the loss to Seth Martinez, who allowed three of the four solo homers during his outing. The win improved King's record to 10-7 on the season.
