Israel Takes Delivery of Second KC-46A Tanker Under US-Funded Program
Israel has received its second Boeing KC-46A tanker as part of a U.S.-funded plan to replace its existing KC-707 aerial refueling fleet. The aircraft, delivered on August 21, is one of six ordered by Israel through the U.S. Foreign Military Financing program.
The first KC-46A was delivered on May 27, and Boeing may ultimately receive orders for up to eight aircraft from Israel. The tanker modernization project relies on funding from the U.S. Foreign Military Financing program, with Israel being its largest recipient.
The KC-707 tankers have been used extensively in recent years to support airstrikes across the Middle East. The KC-46As will replace these existing aircraft and are part of a broader effort by Boeing to expand its export customer base for the KC-46A Pegasus.
