James Rose Dies at 87 After Career in Electronics

James A. Rose passed away on August 3, 2026 at the age of 87 after receiving home hospice care. His career in Tucson spanned several decades and included roles as an electronic engineer for Garrett AiResearch and Otis Elevator. He also worked at Honeywell following a merger. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Rose was involved with local organizations such as the Boy Scouts, where he served as an assistant Scout Master for troop 211, and the Oro Valley American Legion.

A celebration of life is scheduled to take place on September 1st at Adair Avalon Chapel, with donations accepted in lieu of flowers going towards the Hermitage No Kill Cat Shelter & Sanctuary. The organization's address is listed as 5278 E. 21st St., Tucson, AZ 85711.
