Jamie Foxx Set to Star in Amazon MGM Thriller Deadlocked
Academy Award winner Jamie Foxx is set to star in and produce an action film titled 'Deadlocked' for Amazon MGM Studios. The project follows a grieving former Marine who serves on jury duty, only to be forced back into action when the trial of the century turns deadly.
The film's script was written by Eric Scot Anderson and Matt Takejiro Bosack, based on their original idea. It is directed by Nikhil Bhat, whose previous credits include the Indian-language action-thriller 'Kill', which premiered at TIFF in 2024 and grossed a mid-seven-figure deal with Lionsgate.
Producers on the project include Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Fred Berger for Range and Dave Caplan for C2. Foxx will produce through his company, Foxxhole Productions, alongside AJ Bourscheid, Liz Destro, Paul Currie, and Corinne Foxx as executive producers.
'Deadlocked' is set to stream globally on Prime Video, marking the latest project for Foxx, who has recently appeared in 'Back in Action' and will star in the Netflix film 'Fight for '84', based on a true story.
