Jet Airways' Grounded Boeing 777 Takes Flight After Seven-Year Wait
After seven years on the ground, one of Jet Airways' Boeing 777 aircraft departed from Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) on August 3. The plane was sold to Malta-based Ace Aviation and took off after receiving regulatory clearance from Indian authorities.
The Boeing 777-300ER, which was among three aircraft acquired by Ace Aviation in February, had remained preserved at Mumbai airport since Jet Airways' liquidation order in November 2024.
Two more Boeing 777s are being prepared for departure after completing pending regulatory formalities. The sale of the airline's remaining assets continues as part of its liquidation process.
