Jets' Preseason Winners: Cisco, Woods, and McClain Rise to the Top
The New York Jets' preseason win over the Pittsburgh Steelers was marked by standout performances from several players, but three in particular saw their stock skyrocket. Among them was safety Andre Cisco, who reminded everyone that he's still a contender for the team's No. 2 safety role.
Cisco's interception was his first in-game pick since last year's preseason finale, and he also recorded two tackles and two stops over 21 snaps. While Dane Belton is currently favored for the position, Cisco's performance showed that he's still very much in contention.
TE Jelani Woods also made a strong impression, hauling in Geno Smith's first touchdown pass of the game. With his impressive size and athleticism, Woods could be a matchup nightmare for opposing defenses, and his showing over the summer has increased the likelihood that the Jets will carry four tight ends on their roster.
Undrafted rookie WR Malik McClain also turned heads with two receptions for 25 yards and a recovered forced fumble on special teams. Despite going undrafted, McClain's strong athletic profile makes him an intriguing option in a highly competitive wide receiver room.
