JLL Weighs Relocation to Boeing's Former HQ Site in Chicago
JLL is considering relocating its global headquarters to Boeing's former site at 100 N. Riverside Plaza in Chicago. The brokerage is mulling a lease on the upper floors of the 36-story, 776K SF tower. This move would take up a smaller footprint than JLL's current space at the Aon Center, which spans around 202K SF.
JLL's discussions with landlords are in preliminary stages, and the company is also evaluating alternative locations. Boeing previously occupied the building from 2001 to 2016, when it relocated its headquarters back to Seattle. In 2005, Boeing acquired the tower for $165.2M after signing a 15-year lease in 2001.
The site has recently changed hands, with Hines and the Stahl Organization partnering to purchase Boeing's leasehold interest for $22M in late 2022. The deal included a 99-year ground lease agreement that runs until 2084.
