John Eldon Steuri was a technology executive, business leader, and philanthropist who left an indelible mark on Arkansas. Born May 6, 1939, in Great Bend, Kansas, Steuri grew up to have a storied career that spanned over four decades.

He graduated from the University of Kansas with a business degree before being recruited by Southwestern Bell and later IBM corporation, where he rose through the ranks to become Vice President of Operations for the Western half of the U.S., leading 50,000 associates. Steuri's career took a significant turn when he was offered the position as CEO of Systematics in 1988, which he held until his retirement in 1996.

During his tenure at Systematics, the company grew from $160 million to nearly one billion in annual revenues under his leadership. After retiring, Steuri began a new chapter in his life, focusing on philanthropy and giving back to the community that had become his home.
