John Lewis Invests £800m in Sports and Wellness In-Store Concept
British department store chain John Lewis has launched a new sports and wellness in-store concept, investing £800 million ($1.1 billion) across its 36 UK locations.
The multi-million-pound investment aims to transform how customers shop for fitness, health, and wellbeing by bringing together sportswear, footwear, wearable technology, recovery, AI-powered fitness, and expert services under one roof.
John Lewis' new concept combines 10 brands including Nike, Brooks, Patagonia, Garmin, Oura, Whoop, Therabody, Peloton, NordicTrack, and Speediance in each of its 5,000 square foot department stores, which are arranged by activities such as running, training, and outdoor pursuits.
Consumers will have access to free gait analysis, MagicAI's intelligent fitness mirror, and other services including monthly 'jog Lewis' run clubs across all four locations.
