Joho Capital LLC, a hedge fund managed by Robert Karr, has significantly boosted its stake in Amazon.com (AMZN) by acquiring an additional 79,800 shares.

This move is reflected in the company's recent transaction records. The hedge fund's increased position now makes it a notable player in the market for Amazon stock.

Spark, TipRanks' AI Analyst, has taken note of this development and issued an 'Outperform' rating for AMZN stock. According to Spark, Amazon's improving profitability and returns, alongside strong trend strength versus major moving averages, are key factors driving this recommendation.

However, Spark also notes that negative TTM free cash flow and management's large, raised CapEx plan may keep cash generation and margins volatile in the near term. The current valuation of AMZN with a P/E ratio of ~21.6 is considered fair rather than cheap.
