JPMorgan Banker Mary Erdoes Faces Scrutiny Over FIFA Ties and Jeffrey Epstein Links
Mary Erdoes, a senior executive at JPMorgan Chase, is facing scrutiny over her involvement in FIFA's FFE initiative and her past ties to convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
Erdoes heads JPMorgan's asset and wealth management division and was reportedly involved in efforts to identify investors for a proposed sale of a 20% stake in FIFA. The plan, valued at $4.2 billion, was led by Joshua Kushner and Thrive Eternal, but it has sparked significant controversy within world football.
Documents released by US authorities show that JPMorgan's relationship with Epstein continued until 2013, despite his conviction in 2008 for soliciting prostitution from a minor. Emails between Erdoes and Epstein indicate they had contact over banking matters, including birthday greetings sent to Epstein from Erdoes' JPMorgan email account.
