JPMorgan Boosts Stake in Future plc to 6.65% Amid Ongoing Institutional Interest
JPMorgan Chase & Co., one of the world's largest financial institutions, has significantly increased its stake in Future plc (FUTR), a UK-based specialist media company. According to a TR-1 major shareholding notification submitted on August 11, 2026, JPMorgan's combined ownership now amounts to 6.654388% of voting rights, up from the previously reported 6.534524%. This represents both an increase in direct share-backed voting rights and an adjusted position in cash-settled equity swaps held by multiple subsidiaries.
The notification reveals that J.P. Morgan Securities PLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of JPMorgan Chase & Co., holds 3,211,649 shares in Future plc as direct voting rights, representing 3.566013% of issued share capital. Additionally, 2,781,517 voting rights arise from cash-settled equity swaps disclosed under Section 8B2, with expiry dates ranging from September 30, 2026 to November 15, 2028.
The increase in JPMorgan's stake indicates sustained institutional interest in Future plc's specialist media operations. As a global publisher across technology, gaming, music, and home interest sectors, Future plc generates revenues mainly from digital advertising, e-commerce affiliate income, and subscriptions.
