JPMorgan Boosts Stake in SMA Solar Technology to Over 15%
JPMorgan Chase & Co., the US-based investment bank and financial services major, has made significant changes to its holdings in SMA Solar Technology AG, a German company specializing in solar power technology. According to a release by EQS Group on September 1st, JPMorgan has increased its stake in SMA Solar Technology to 15.22% of voting rights.
The acquisition was made through various instruments, including equity swaps and cash-settled call options, which give the bank the right to buy or sell shares at a predetermined price. The total number of shares held by JPMorgan is approximately 34.7 million.
The news follows a similar announcement in August when JPMorgan increased its stake in SMA Solar Technology to 14.93%.
