JPMorgan Chase Edges Closer to Historic $1 Trillion Market Cap
JPMorgan Chase is closing in on becoming the first bank to reach a $1 trillion market cap, thanks to its strong second quarter 2026 results and rising analyst targets.
The company's Q2 2026 earnings delivered a substantial jump in profit and revenue versus the prior year period, with net income of $21.2 billion up 41% year over year, or 13% when excluding significant one-off items. Net revenue reached $58.0 billion, an increase of 27% versus the prior-year quarter, or 15% higher when adjusted for those significant items.
The firm's net interest income came in at $25.6 billion, up 10%, while noninterest revenue stood at $32.4 billion, up 45%, or 20% higher excluding one-off gains. Management commentary highlighted that the company generated net income of $16.9 billion and a return on tangible common equity (ROTCE) of 23% for the quarter.
Analyst consensus shows an average target price of $374.57 per share, with some individual targets in the $368 to $390 range. This suggests that most professional observers are aligned on modest additional upside rather than a sharp re-rating from here.
