JPMorgan Continues Asia Hiring Spree Amid Corporate Bank Growth
JPMorgan Chase is set to continue its hiring spree in Asia Pacific after reporting a significant growth in revenue from its corporate bank in the region. Revenue at JPMorgan's corporate bank in Asia Pacific has grown by more than 20% this year, with teams serving mid-sized and large companies, the innovation economy, financial institutions, and non-bank financial institutions benefiting from the expansion.
The U.S. bank is close to completing a roughly 15% increase in Asia Pacific corporate banking staff this year, after expanding the team by 20% in 2025. Oliver Brinkmann and Kerwin Clayton said in an interview that JPMorgan will continue hiring at a similar pace in 2027.
The growth in revenue has been driven by Asian companies expanding abroad and rising investment in artificial intelligence, data centers, and supply chains. Markets including Taiwan, South Korea, China, and Australia have exceeded the 20% growth rate, with Southeast Asia growing by more than 20%. Malaysia is benefiting from foreign investment linked to AI and data centers, while Singapore is acting as a regional connector and hub.
