JPMorgan Cuts Ties with Polymarket Amid Regulatory Scrutiny
JPMorgan has terminated its banking relationship with Polymarket due to regulatory concerns. The bank informed Polymarket in October 2025 that it needed to find a new lender, and Polymarket subsequently migrated its accounts to another bank.
The decision comes amid increased scrutiny of prediction markets like Polymarket, which allows users to bet on various events. In 2022, the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission fined Polymarket $1.4 million for operating an unregistered derivatives platform.
Regulators have also expanded their investigation into Polymarket to examine allegations of staged trades and fabricated winning bets. This move has led to restrictions on access to Polymarket in several countries, including France, where the government has blocked access within the country.
