JPMorgan Earnings Soar Amid Market Volatility
JPMorgan Chase, America's largest bank by assets, saw its stock price rise approximately 0.9% to $354.84 on Monday afternoon as financial stocks boosted the Dow.
The bank's second-quarter net income reached a record-breaking $21.2 billion on managed revenue of $58 billion. Markets revenue surged 35% higher to $12.1 billion, driven primarily by an 86% explosion in equity-markets revenue to $6 billion.
This significant growth is due to the bank's ability to capitalize on market volatility through its trading desks, as well as cheap funding from deposits and steady lending activity. However, investors are already paying a premium for this advantage, with the stock price standing 12.98% above the estimated $314.07 GF Value.
