Former JPMorgan executive Jes Staley has revealed that he shared confidential and market-sensitive information with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, according to a transcript released by the U.S. Congress House Oversight Committee.

The admissions come as lawmakers probe Epstein's ties with political and business elites. Staley appeared before the committee in July and admitted to sharing sensitive bank communications, including details of the bank's dealings during the 2008 financial crisis, with Epstein.

Staley disclosed that he told Epstein about $44 billion in private bank inflows over two weeks, his own compensation package, and client relationships. He also informed Epstein about developments related to his eventual move to Barclays.

Staley defended the exchanges, saying he believed he had the authority to share information when he considered it appropriate. He has maintained that he was unaware of Epstein's crimes, despite having a close professional relationship with him.
