JPMorgan Expands Corporate Banking into Greece Amid Economic Recovery
JPMorgan Chase has expanded its global corporate banking operations into Greece, adding services for large and midsize companies to its existing investment-banking presence.
The move comes as Greece emerges from years of financial stress with faster economic growth, lower unemployment, and renewed access to investment-grade capital markets.
Konstantinos Makrydakis will lead the new operation, which will offer corporate banking services alongside JPMorgan's existing investment-banking franchise in Greece.
The expansion reflects a wider change in how international investors view Greece, with economic growth outpacing many European peers and unemployment at its lowest level since 2008.
Greece has also regained investment-grade status from all major rating companies since 2023, making it a more conventional market for global banks seeking corporate clients and investment opportunities across Europe.
