JPMorgan Expands in Canada with Key Hires
JPMorgan Chase has appointed Chris Finora to lead its Canadian Cash Equities Trading franchise. Finora, who previously worked at TD Securities for 27 years, is joining JPMorgan in Toronto this month.
He brings a wealth of experience from his two-year stint at Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, where he was the head of equities trading. The bank has been expanding its presence in Canada, bringing on 18 new executives and managing directors over the past year, a 20% increase in director headcount.
JPMorgan's growth in Canada reflects confidence in Prime Minister Mark Carney's government, which aims to attract $1 trillion in investment over the next five years. The bank's CEO, David Rawlings, believes that inbound Canadian investment will accelerate over the next decade and wants JPMorgan to be better positioned to capture these flows.
