JPMorgan Keeps Hitting the Hiring Trail in Asia Pacific
JPMorgan Chase plans to continue its hiring spree in Asia Pacific after a strong 2026, where it increased its corporate banking workforce by about 15%. The bank's revenue has grown over 20% year-to-date, driven by investments in artificial intelligence infrastructure, data centers, and supply chains. Speaking to Reuters from the bank's Singapore office, regional leaders Oliver Brinkmann and Kerwin Clayton said JPMorgan expects recruitment activity to continue at a similar pace next year.
The hiring drive will support teams serving mid-sized and large corporate clients, innovation economy businesses, financial institutions, and non-bank financial institutions. This strategy reflects JPMorgan's efforts to deepen relationships with clients across fast-growing sectors while strengthening regional coverage.
Brinkmann noted that growth has been broad-based across sectors and markets, with several countries outperforming the regional average. Countries recording particularly strong growth include Taiwan, South Korea, China, Australia, and Southeast Asia, where business growth has exceeded 20%. The bank is seeing strong demand for data center financing and GPU-related financing opportunities.
The bank is also increasing its focus on trade and working capital solutions, allocating more capital to trade finance, working capital finance, and cross-border business financing. This move comes as intra-Asia trade volumes continue to grow and companies seek financing support for increasingly complex regional supply chains.
