JPMorgan Leads $1.5 Trillion Defense Push Amid Global Tensions
JPMorgan Chase's CEO Jamie Dimon has embarked on a $1.5 trillion defense push, part of the bank's Security and Resiliency Initiative launched in October 2025.
Dimon's interest in the defense sector deepened since Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022, after conversations with retired military leaders made him aware of changing global power dynamics, evolving weapons, and shifting tactics.
The initiative aims to support critical industries, including defense, aerospace, manufacturing, energy, health tech, and strategic technologies, with a focus on modernizing America's defense-industrial base.
JPMorgan has committed $1.5 trillion over ten years, with plans for up to $10 billion in direct equity and venture investments as part of the broader program.
