JPMorgan Lifts Meta Price Target to $820 on AI Momentum
JPMorgan has upgraded its stance on Meta Platforms Inc., citing the company's aggressive push into artificial intelligence as a catalyst for future stock gains.
The bank raised its December 2027 price target to $820 from $640, implying a potential 25-30% upside based on Wednesday's close. Analyst Doug Anmuth pointed to the rapid-fire rollout of consumer-facing AI products, including the recently launched Muse app, which has achieved early usage levels ten times higher than training cohorts.
Anmuth sees significant upside potential as Meta continues to release frontier models and AI-driven products beyond advertising, such as the Meta Model API. The company's scale is a key part of the bull case, with JPMorgan arguing that its unmatched distribution channel for AI products gives it a competitive advantage in the consumer AI market.
However, not everyone shares this enthusiasm. Oppenheimer has reiterated its perform rating on Meta shares, questioning whether Muse represents a fundamental shift for the company and citing concerns over consumer adoption and revenue potential.
