JPMorgan Looms Over $1 Trillion as Scarcity Premium Beckons
JPMorgan Chase is rapidly approaching the $1 trillion market capitalization threshold and could become the first bank in the world to join the 'trillion-dollar club.'
According to Bank of America Securities analysts, JPMorgan's valuation trades at a significant discount to the broader market.
BofA analyst Ebrahim Poonawala believes that once JPMorgan reaches this milestone, it will attract a different class of investors and create a 'scarcity premium.'
The bank currently trades at a mid-teens earnings multiple, compared to the 20.7x median forward price-to-earnings ratio for S&P 500 Index constituents with market caps above $1 trillion.
