JPMorgan Pledges $750 Billion for US Housing Through 2035
JPMorgan has announced plans to deploy over $750 billion into the US housing market by 2035 as part of its American Dream Initiative. The initiative aims to boost housing supply and support homeownership in the country, with a focus on increasing mortgage lending by more than 40%. This will help finance homes for over 500,000 customers.
JPMorgan's head of commercial real estate, Michelle Herrick, stated that an affordable and resilient housing market is essential to driving economic growth and increasing opportunity. The US housing market has been subdued due to elevated borrowing costs and steep price tags, making it difficult for prospective buyers to enter the market.
