JPMorgan Pledges Over $750B to American Dream Initiative by 2035
JPMorgan Chase has launched its American Dream Initiative, committing over $750 billion to housing and community development by 2035. The initiative builds on the bank's previous commitments, with a boost of more than $200 billion.
The initiative targets six areas: small business growth, housing accessibility and affordability, financial well-being, career development, healthcare, and support for local institutions. JPMorgan is earmarking $80 billion in lending over the next decade to expand its small business client base from 7 million to 10 million owners.
The bank will coach 115,000 small business owners and hire 1,000 additional small-business bankers as part of this effort. The initiative will scale programs already running in high-demand markets including Alabama, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and San Francisco.
CEO Jamie Dimon framed the initiative around a widening gap in the American Dream, particularly in housing, entrepreneurship, and wealth-building. JPMorgan is positioning itself as both lender and advocate, combining direct financing with technical assistance and policy advocacy.
