JPMorgan Ponders Launching Its Own Stablecoin Amid Market Growth
JPMorgan Chase, the largest U.S. bank, is open to launching its own stablecoin, according to a spokesperson.
The idea of a JPMorgan stablecoin has been discussed in preliminary conversations within the bank, with no active plan to launch one currently.
However, the bank's statement leaves room for future consideration: 'While we have no plans to issue a stablecoin, depending on customer demand and the evolution of the regulatory landscape, we would of course evaluate all options in the future.'
This move comes as traditional banks are increasingly interested in launching their own stablecoins, joining the competition in a market estimated to process up to $1.5 quadrillion annually by 2035.
