JPMorgan Seeks to Double Down on Asia Corporate Banking Growth
JPMorgan Chase is expanding its corporate banking business in Asia Pacific at a rapid pace. In an interview, regional heads Oliver Brinkmann and Kerwin Clayton stated that revenue growth this year has exceeded 20%. The bank aims to continue hiring staff at a similar rate next year.
The hiring will cover various teams serving mid-sized and large companies, the innovation economy, financial institutions, and non-bank financial institutions. Markets such as Taiwan, South Korea, China, and Australia have seen growth rates exceeding 20%.
JPMorgan is also investing in trade finance and working capital finance to support increasing trade within Asia. The bank sees a strong demand for financing related to artificial intelligence, data centres, and supply chains.
