JPMorgan Sees Investment Banking Fees Surge on Strong Market Fundamentals
JPMorgan's Co-President Doug Petno stated that investment banking fees for Q3 are expected to be up mid-to-high teens due to broad-based strength across all products and geographies.
Petno cited market sentiments and fundamentals as the driving forces behind this growth, particularly in merger and acquisition activity, which he believes is at a high level not seen in some time.
He also mentioned that markets are experiencing similar strength, with FIC and equities seeing broad-based growth. Petno expects third-quarter revenues to be up mid-to-high teens, despite an expected seasonal sequential decline from Q2's record quarter.
