JPMorgan Shares Climb Despite Fraud Allegations
JPMorgan Chase shares rose 0.63% in premarket trading to $361.49, despite scrutiny over fraud claims worth more than $100 million.
The allegations, brought by a former employee, Christy Lillie, claim that the bank labeled certain losses as scams rather than fraud, allowing it to reject reimbursement requests.
JPMorgan denies any wrongdoing and says its internal examination found no breaches of law.
Analysts remain positive on JPMorgan, with 17 out of 28 rating the stock 'buy' or equivalent. However, some caution that ongoing expenses related to control may strain the bank's valuation.
