JPMorgan Targets Asia-Pacific Corporate Banking Growth
JPMorgan Chase is expanding its Asia-Pacific corporate banking operations, driven by robust growth in markets such as Taiwan, South Korea, China, and Australia. The bank's revenue in the region has increased by over 20% year-to-date, prompting it to continue hiring across the APAC region through 2027.
JPMorgan's Asia-Pacific corporate banking staff is expected to increase by around 15% this year, following a 20% expansion in 2025. The bank plans to maintain a similar pace of hiring in 2027, according to executive Kerwin Clayton.
The growth is being fueled by increased demand for trade finance and working capital lending, particularly in the areas of data center and GPU financing. JPMorgan sees 'really quite active' demand for these services, which can lead to recurring revenue and more frequent interactions with clients.
