JPMorgan to Maintain Hiring Pace in Asia Pacific Amid Corporate Bank Growth
JPMorgan Chase is set to maintain its hiring pace in Asia Pacific for next year after reporting a corporate bank revenue growth of over 20% this year. The US bank's regional heads, Oliver Brinkmann and Kerwin Clayton, revealed that the company is close to completing a 15% increase in Asia Pacific corporate banking staff this year.
The hiring spree covers teams serving mid-sized and large companies, as well as the innovation economy, financial institutions, and non-bank financial institutions. The executives emphasized that the bank intends to continue hiring at a similar pace in 2027, with growth across all sectors.
Market growth rates have exceeded expectations, particularly in Taiwan, South Korea, China, and Australia, which have seen significant increases in corporate banking revenue. Southeast Asia is also growing at over 20%, driven by foreign investment linked to AI and data centers in countries like Malaysia and Singapore's role as a regional connector.
JPMorgan is investing more capital into trade finance and working capital finance, which helps companies pay for goods moving across borders, as trade within Asia increases.
