The company has partnered with Jiangsu Hengrui Pharmaceuticals on a multi-billion-dollar licensing and co-development deal. Kailera's pipeline includes several promising candidates, including ribupatide injection (KAI-9531), which is currently in Phase 3 clinical trials.

Several major pharmaceutical companies have been mentioned as potential acquirers of Kailera, including Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Merck, Novo Nordisk, and AbbVie. However, Eli Lilly has been ruled out due to its existing strong position in the market.
