Kalshi Eyes 24/7 Stock Perps Amid Leverage Debate
Kalshi, a platform that allows users to trade perpetual futures, is planning to offer leveraged contracts tied to individual US stocks. The company wants to seek regulatory approval for around 60 stock and ETF perpetual futures for 24/7 trading.
The planned lineup covers popular companies worth at least $100 billion, including Tesla, Apple, and Nvidia. Kalshi already runs U.S. perpetual futures on crypto and added gold and silver versions recently.
Better Markets has warned that 24/7 leverage could cause heavy losses among individual investors. The company's CEO, Tarek Mansour, argued that the leverage is comparable to traditional futures and lower than many offshore alternatives.
