Kieran Culkin to Lead Disney's New Animated Adventure Clay as a Well-Intentioned Disaster

Walt Disney Animation Studios has announced its latest original animated movie, Clay. The film will hit theaters in November 2028 and follows the story of Flip, an aspiring mentor played by Kieran Culkin. However, things don't go as planned for Flip, who is assigned to guide a literal ball of clay named Mushi.

The concept for Clay deviates from the classic Disney mentor-and-student story. Instead of introducing a wise teacher with all the answers, Disney has chosen to put an absolute mess in charge. According to Walt Disney Animation chief Jared Bush, 'What if the next Disney mentor stunk?' was the question asked by the studio.

Flip's first attempt at guiding Mushi goes wildly off course when he runs away in the middle of the night only to discover that Mushi is inescapable and pure chaos. Flip must now keep Mushi alive on a journey through a fantastical forest, where they encounter various creatures.
